Storyboard Text

  • Exposition: Mrs. Penguin  wants to be rich and live a glamorous life. Her husband gets her an invitation to a fancy party for them to go to, knowing it is something she has wanted to do.
  • Here is an invitation I got you to a fancy dinner party!
  • I want to be rich and go to a fancy party!
  •
  • YOU ARE INVITED
  • Foreshadowing: in this scene we see that Mrs. Penguin is insinuating that something will happen to the necklace. She says this without knowing something will happen, so it is foreshadowing.
  • I am so glad Ms. Chicken let me borrow this necklace. I am the most fashionable one here! It would be a shame if something were to happen to it.
  • Climax: this is where the story picks up and takes a big turn of events. They don't realize that this necklace is about to change their lives.
  • IVE LOST THE NECKLACE!!!!
  • Oh dear.....
  • Back home, after the party...
  • Static character: as you can see, Mrs. Penguin hasn’t changed through out the story. She is now concerned about losing all of their money because she still wants to be rich and not poor.
  • That will be $36,000.
  • Jewlery
  • No refunds
  • Setting: the setting is now 10 years later in a ruinous home. Mr and Mrs. Penguin are now poor and Mrs. Penguin now scrubs the floor and cleans, all because of a necklace.
  • I wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t lost that necklace.
  • 10 years later...
  • Irony: the irony of this story is that they paid $36,000 to get a new necklace when the original one was only $500!
  • WHAT?!
  • My necklace was only $500.
  • That’s all of our money!
