Nana is angry about Mariam spending time with Jalil
Nana kills herself because Mariam left her, so Mariam has nowhere else to go.
Jalil and his wives marry her off to Rasheed, because Jalil does not want her.
When Mariam sees her new house, she gets very upset and misses her old home
Rasheed buys Mariam a scarf from the market, and Mariams starts to think he actually loves her.
Rasheed grows angrier and angrier because Mariam can't birth him a son, and he critizes her cooking and gets angry.
