First we are going to talk about similes and metaphors. A simile is comparing two objects using like or as. A metaphor is comparison in which one thing is said to be another. An example of a simile is my mom is like a big teddy bear. An example of a metaphor is that my mom is a big teddy bear.
Ok class know we are goin to learn about hyperbole and onomatopoeia. A hyperbole is an exaggeration statement. An example of a hyperbole is that I can run faster then a car. A onomatopoeia is a A word that imitates the sound it represents. Some Examples are bam, pop, zap.
And finally the last figurative language are personification and idioms. Personification is giving human qualities to animals or objects. An example is the harsh wind murdered the plants in the garden. An idiom is an expression that doesn't exactly mean what is says. an example is it raining cats and dogs.
