  • Newton's Laws of Motion Sarah Fisher
  • As you can see Taylor, is sitting down. Newtons 1st law of motion states that an object at rest can stay at rest unless a force is acted upon it.
  • Arf!
  • Newton's 1st Law of Motion
  • Newtons 1st Law of Motion stats that an object in motion will stay in motion unless a force is acted upon it. As Taylor passes the ball to me the ball will stay in motion until I stop it with my foot.
  • Pass it here!
  • Newton's 2nd Law of Motion
  • "I wonder what will happen if I drop this football from the top of this building..."
  • Newton's 2nd Law of Motion
  • Now that I have dropped the football from the top of the building you can tell that Newtons 2nd Law is being applied because acceleration is force divide by mass and, the force in free fall is 9.8 m/s squared.
  • Newton's 3rd Law of Motion
  • Newton's 3rd Law of Motion
  • Bri and I are playing basketball. I go in for a shot and as I go in a push off the floor with my right leg. This is an example of Newtons 3rd Law because, I am exerting a force off of the ground and it is pushing back up on me with the same force.
  • Cecilia is working out. As she pushes onto the treadmill she exerts a force onto the treadmill and it exerts the same force on her.
