The use of different educational technologies can help students with special needs reach their full potential in the classroom.
All students have the right to a quality education. Especially kids with disabilities.
Savannah uses an AAC device so she can talk to her peers, and so she can participate in class.
We set up a daily schedule for Sandy, so that she can see can follow a routine, and so she doesn't get stressed or confused. This helps her to focus in class.
Tanner has difficulty with his fine motor skills. Using a laptop for assessments makes it easier for him to complete tasks faster. We also modify tools he uses throughout the day like pencils, scissors, etc.
Providing AT for ALL students based on their personal needs will help them to achieve educational goals faster, and more effectively.
As you can see, Assistive Technology is important in a Special Education classroom, and any class room for that matter.
In order for student's to reach their full potential, it is imperative that students have AT that fills their personal needs.
