Storyboard Text

  • Daniel Boone was born on November 2, 1734 near reading Pennsylvania. Learned to hunt at a young age and recieved his first rifle at age 12.
  • Not Jemima!
  • In 1775 Boone went on a military expedition as part of the French and Indian War. He served as wagoner and was the only survivor after they were attacked by Indians.
  • In August 1756 he married Rebecca Bryan, and they had 10 children.
  • In 1776 Boone's daughter was kidnapped by the Cherokee and Shawnee tribes as part of a restistance to the settlers. Boone got is daughter back the next year only to be captured himself in 1778.
  • After he escaped he was robbed of his settlers money, and his town turned against him. They even threatened to sue and kill him. So, he left and moved to West Virginia in 1788.
  • He died on September 26, 1820 of natural causes.
