Just about done finally. Can't stand the heat anymore!
As I continued to bury myself in the belly of the iron giant, my uncle and neighbor continued to work on the bearings that needed to be replaced. Almost all of them had to be cut with the torch and then replaced.
With all of the bearings replaced and the welding completed, it was time to return the crankshaft and reattach the straw walkers. Yet again, I crawled into the back of the beast and lifted the straw walkers up.
As I drove the combine out of the shop and down the road, I realized what I had just done. I had proven to myself that I work well in confined spaces, have a better set of mechanical skills, and the ability to work under intense heat.
