  • Do you know what its like being black correct term African Americans
  • They was fighting for freedom trying to survive the transportation to different states and continents on slave ships with no food water no room to move or sleep living in filth chains shackling them together hands and feet
  • well lets start slavery began in 1619 and slaves where traded, tortured, killed and tossed away like they where nothing
  • Freedom is all they wanted but soon that's what they got slavery ended in 1863 when president Abraham Lincoln issued his emancipation proclamation
  • 33 years after slavery ended on 1896 segregation became legal
  • Blacks, colored, whites only signs up everywhere separating them from everything to bathrooms restaurants etc.. because they thought they where considered diseased infested animals
  • poor and uneducated dirty blacks that's why they treated them so badly
  • Boycotts, marches, sit ins began to break out to fight for freedom for equal rights as human begins and the leaders of the civil rights movement are Martin,Malcom, Rosa and many more they fought for a better future
  • 1964 is the day they thought would never come the day of freedom segregation ends but the war for freedom just began
  • 2016 Trayvon Martin, Philando, Alton, Mike brown, Sandra, Garner and many more unarmed African American men and women shot dead by cops that's hide there true form.
  • racism is very much alive and well but as a nation we are to blind to see it or some choose not to.
  • So now I'm teaching my sisters like how my mom, grandma, grandpa taught me my story and journey began with me , so make your story or journey begin with you.
  • I am a African American woman and I know my culture knowing why my ancestors went through how they were treated it makes me want to stand up and teach and show others about how to learn about there culture and race.
