  • Josh: This is how the experiment looks like.
  • Josh: The goal is to drop the egg into the beaker by pushing the plate from underneath.
  • 8
  • Adam: We should vary the amount of force applied to the plate.
  • Josh: The egg failed to drop in the beaker as we applied too much force.
  • 9
  • Josh: Now, let's try applying 50 m/s force.
  • Josh explains the instructions to conduct the experiment. Developing and using Models
  • 10
  • Adam: That worked!
  • Josh: This can be further explained using the formula,  Force = Mass X Acceleration
  • Independent variable: The amount of force applied. Dependent variable: Whether the egg lands in the beaker. Planning and Carrying Out Investigations
  • 11
  • Why did this happen?
  • This happens because the speed of the plate overcomes the friction caused by the beaker.
  • Josh suggests to decrease the amount of force applied to the plate. Analyzing and Interpreting Data
  • 12
  • Would a foam ball follow the same principle?
  • No. The foam ball will not behave the same way as it less dense than the egg.
  • Adam and Josh successfully complete the experiment. Using Mathematics and Computational Thinking
  • Josh explains the physics behind the experiment. Constructing Explanations and Designing Solutions
  • Adam and Josh engage in a scientific conversation. Engaging in Argument from Evidence
