Storyboard Text

  • Let's Dive Into it!!!!!
  • What's up, I'm sensations, the fun one that helps you feel, smell, taste, see, hear and touch things around you!
  • We are here today to demonstrate how we work together to help you experience and understand the wonderful world around you everyday.
  • And I'm perceptions. I help you make sense of the things you may feel, smell, taste, hear, or touch.
  • RING!!!!!
  • OH NO, SO LOUD AND SCARY! I have to allow you to hear this horrible sound so you can wake up :(
  • Hearing
  • Using context effects, I help you understand that this that the sound will not harm you and it is just your alarm clock waking you up in the morning!
  • After taking care of business, one of the 1st things you may do is get on your electronics. Either to do homework or watch Netflix :)
  • I help you view the contents on your screen as the optic nerve transmits information to the visual cortex in your brain
  • Vision
  • Taste
  • I allow you to perceive the contents on your screen by using, proximity, similarity, continuity, closure, etc. to help organize what you see
  • AHH much needed fresh air! Your sense of touch can help you tell the temperature outside.
  • Touch
  • Perceptions can help you understand that water can cool you down and help decide to take a dip in the pool to cool down!
  • As you come back inside, your olfactory sense (smell) lets you smell something in the kitchen!
  • Smell
  • Perceptions helps you decipher what the smell is. With perception you can tell whether you're smelling yummy desert, or something burning
  • Your tastebuds, tiny sensory receptors on you tongue detect sour, salty, bitter, and sweet flavors
  • Now let's put our favorite sense to the test and eat some delicious pie!!!
  • With the help of context effects, you know that pie has a sweet flavor so you can enjoy a sweet treat
