Storyboard Text

  • Once Robert started to talk about marriage, Edna got a little uptight because she didn't want another marriage. Adele is about to have her baby so Edna rushes to her friend!
  • I'm here Adele
  • When Edna returns home, Robert was NOWHERE to be found! But he did leave a note for saying he loved her which meant he had to go!
  • After Robert had left, Edna was upset and depressed so she went back to Grand Isle look for a happy trip, but is only disappointed when she gets there . Then she drowns!
  • The Awakening is not literally Edna waking up. The phrase awakening means that Edna is not aware of who she is, A daughter, A mother, A wife, or is she her own person with a different identity.??
  • The answer is... Yes Edna is her own person with her own identity. That is explained over the course of the book and comic strip. She discovers that she is not a possession of somebody and that she is a free woman. She figures out that she can express herself through painting. And the society she lives in, she realizes that it is not friendly to females who try to to be strong and independent, other than being a wife of mother. By the end of this Novel Edna awakens and she knows that she is strong and can be independent from men!
