I believe that the theme for this story is never do anything reckless that you know that will get in trouble and can harm yourself and others. The main reason for this is that in the story Donovan, the main character, always did reckless stunts that he knew that would get himself hurt and into trouble. An example of this that got him into a lot of trouble is when hit a statue of Atlas holding a globe with a stick and that made the statue drop the ball and it fell into the gym where his school was in the middle of a basketball game, and that ruined the gym floor.
This is Donovan
When Donovan is caught, the superintendent of the school district writes is name down on an honor roll paper to remember his name. However, his secretary submits the form. This makes Donovan transfer schools. The obstacle that he needs to overcome is that he needs to keep up with all his schoolwork and if he doesn't then there is a chance that there will be inquiries for why he was even in the system in the first place, which would get him caught, and his parents would probably need to pay for the expenses of the gym floor, and this is a big problem because his family is in a tight position for several reasons.
