Hi! I am Parply, I going to take you through the stages of water: The water cycle. I have been around for about a million years. Some rain drops only take a few months to get through the water cycle it depends what path they take I could even have been around with dinosaurs. This is because I am constantly being recycled through the hydrologic cycle.
Right now I am going through the first stage of the water cycle: Evaporation. I am a gas so I am invisible to people. I am evaporating because of the suns heat. The sun and another force power the water cycle. You will find out about that one later.
I am in the second part of the hydrologic cycle now this one is called condensation. I was still mad at the sun for always heating me up but I have cooled down and I am ready to become a cloud. Well, that's what happens in the condensation stage we cool down and become clouds. We become clouds by grouping together. The reason you can see clouds is because they are a mixture of solid, liquid, and gas. The parts of the clouds that are invisible to people are water vapor and dry air. The solid part is ice particles, the liquid part is tiny water drops, and the gas part is the water vapor AKA green house gas.
Now we have become so heavy that we have to drop our contents in the form of rain, sleet, snow, or hail. Looks like it's so cold outside we became snow. We are being pulled down to Earth by gravity. Without gravity we would be floating in space. This is why gravity is the other force that powers the water cycle is gravity.
Looks like we became a glacier. Water in glaciers is the purest water on earth. About 10 percent of Earths land. I might be here for a while until I melt from the sun. Let's take a look at my friend while I am frozen here.
My friend became a puddle of water. It looks like he was soaked up by the roots and went out onto the leaves. This process is called transpiration. Soon he will be evaporated by the sun and all of this will start over again. Oh his friend was infiltrated and in an aquifer. This means he was soaked into the ground.
