Storyboard Text

  • Margaret Kagan
  • Margaret Kagan grew up in Kaunas with her younger mother, father, and two younger brothers; one of which was away at school.
  • When the Germans invaded, most families fled the town.
  • However, Margaret's family stayed because they did not want to leave behind her little brother.
  • However, everyone who didn't leave were taken to the ghettos. Including Margaret.
  • She was now separated from her family. Alone.
  • They were forced to work in over crowded work environments under the watchful eyes of the SS officers.
  • She was forced to stay in rooms packed tight with several other families.
  • So tight, in fact, that you were very limited on how much you can actually move!
  • Eventually though, she met her savior.
