Continuation of my grandma's interview.
How was your childhood growing up during the Great Depression?
My dad always made sure we had enough to eat. My mother would even make us each something different for dinner that we each would like one day each week
I tried to have her do it twice a week, but she said no that is was to much work to do it twice a week.
One thing we didn't have a lot of were clothes. We would have to wear one outfit one day then wash it that night to wear the next day. Even though we didn't have many clothes my mother always made sure we were clean each day.
Did you have to take on any roles inside the house?
I had one chore and that was to wash the dishes in the morning and at night. I had to wash the dishes of 7 people.
One final question: How do you feel today looking back on your childhood experiences?
No matter the problems, I wouldn't give up anything of my childhood. I wouldn't change anything about it
