  • Introduction
  • Old English
  • Middle English
  • This storyboard will be explaining the different types of language eras and how they have changed through time.
  • Shakespeare
  • Old English was created by the combination and manipulation of many other languages such as, Greek, Latin, Scandinavian and French the time of this era lasted around 450-1150 and was also famous for the poem Beowulf that was created at the time, this was very hard to understand because of the lack of official alphabetical letters and words since they were just combined using so many other languages.
  • Slang
  • The Middle English Era  lasted from the years 1150-1500, through the aging of these years the Canterbury Tales were created. This book is a collection of tales from this era, this was also created because of the languages becoming more and more official meaning that they were able to start using more of them instead of making new words and getting rid of them soon after they were made, however this is still very hard to read because this book was created when the English language was still being developed.
  • Conclusion
  • The Shakespearean era lasted from 1500-1800. This era had a great influence on the English language because Shakespeare created so many words and letters that became approved by everybody, he created 1700 words and phrases. He also created 37 different plays, a lot of the words and phrases he invented are still being used today however, while we still use some of his language today we still mostly use our developed English more and his language is still difficult to read because we are use to our new language
  • Slang is the modern era of language that we use today. Slang is usually very informal and has it's own meaning that some people may not understand because they don't come from that specific place that the word was invented in. This makes it harder for some people to get use to a certain country's slang because they are use to their home country's slang rather than somewhere else.
  • This storyboard has shown us that language is being constantly developed through time, meaning one day. The way we talk might become impossible to understand too because the languages everyone talks is being changed every day.
