  • Hi! I'm a woman living in Sparta! Welcome to my home which I own myself
  • This is my new husband because my first husband died in battle.
  • Oh yes, the weather has been holding up today. I hope you all have a great day!
  • Women in Sparta were allowed to own to own my own property and farmland.
  • today you will all be pulling heavy stones and anyone who disobeys will be severely punished!
  • Women in ancient Sparta were allowed to re-marry if their husbands die or were away at war for too long.
  • If you all come join us in the army, we will promise you all freedom!
  • Women in ancient Sparta had many rights that other women didn't. They were even allowed to talk to their husbands' friends.
  • Yes! I finally earned enough money to buy my freedom! I'm Freeeeeeeeee!
  • Helots or slaves were treated very harshly so they would be sure to not revolt.
  • Helots were once promised they would be set free, but instead, the government took them and killed 2,000 of them.
  • Slaves in Sparta did have some rights, they were able to buy their way to freedom if they made enough money by selling leftover crops.
