- My granny(Racheal) and papa(Bill) lived in Ireland.
- Although this is before they were born Ireland had some trouble in the 1950s. the Irish economy continued to grow smaller and smaller. 16% of their population left.
- I miss my friends
- It's OK you'll make new friends and you'll see them one day.
- They moved from Ireland to New Zealand on the 6th of January 1971.
- Hi Granny, Hi Papa. We love you!
- They came to Australia from New Zealand on the 24th. February 1986. they come because of family and work
- The hardest part about the journey for them was leaving their friends and family behind. “ In those days it took quite a while to get a letter and as there were no mobile phones and phone calls were very expensive you usually waited for birthdays and Christmas to phone home.”
- Now everything has changed again with the coronavirus. My Grandparents are healthy and safe. We call them on the phone every week. I talk with them as much as I can. They have a very positive attitude towards it and hope to see us as soon as posable.
