Continuation of Persepolis

Storyboard Text

  • When I arrived at the airport, there were barely any people there. After all, who wants to go back into my country? I waited there until our friends came to pick me up.
  • Marji, it is so good to see you. I am so glad you made it safely.
  • Oh. Hi Shirin. Its good to see you too. Its been a while. Where is your mom?
  • Oh. She is out with the car. She couldn't leave it alone. Lets go.
  • So we walked off. It was so strange to be in a new place.
  • So. How are you?You seem upset. I know its different being in a new place. But you will get used to it. I mean, I did. Look at me. I have completely changed for the better.
  • I didn't talk the whole way home. I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to leave my parents and my country.
  • Welcome to our house, make yourself at home. But first, go ahead and take of that hijab. You don't need it anymore.
  • I felt free when I took the head scarf off and got to change my dress. It was just like before the war, and everything was normal.
  • Remember me. I am your moms best friend. We are so glad you are here with us and safe. This is your room. Make yourself comfortable.
