Manorialism was a system based around self-sufficient farming estates were the lord and the peasants lived off the land together.
A manor was a vast piece of land which was legally owned by a person, that gave determined political rights as an outcome.
In that time land was everything, if you had lands you had political rights, but you could only have lands if you were a king, a noble, or someone wealthy.
