King Hamlet has passed away and his son, Hamlet, learns that a group of soldiers have seen the ghost of King Hamlet
Hamlet confronts the ghost and learns that King Hamlet was murdered by Claudius (King Hamlet’s brother). Hamlet is furious and wants to know if Claudius has truly killed his father. He wants revenge.
Hamlet stages a play to see Claudius’s reaction. This play depicts a king being murdered in a similar way to how King Hamlet died.
Claudius, horrified and guilty, abruptly leaves the play. He leaves the play and begins to pray. Hamlet, seeing him pray, contemplates whether he should kill Claudius or not. Hamlet decides against it as he thinks Claudius will go to Heaven.
At the request of Queen Gertrude, Hamlet goes to her room. There, Hamlet confronts Queen Gertrude about her misdeeds. Hearing Polonius spy on the two, Hamlet stabs and kills him.
After finding out about this murder, Claudius sends Hamlet to England. Laertes is furious with Claudius because he thinks Claudius killed his father. However, he later finds out, that Hamlet killed his father.
