Japan saw a great opportunity to grab European possessions of its rich quality and would not hesitate to fight its war against China. The US further saw the Japanese aggression and banned selling its war materials from it. This created tension between the US and Japan so Hideki Tojo led Japan to attack Pearl Harbor which led the US's entry to WWII.
