After the commotion and fireworks lighting up the sky by the apricot trees, Ming Li walked and as she did, a Sparrow came falling down almost frightened to death.
Ming Li had enough and wanted the war to end. Her and her brother decided to save as many of the Sparrows as they could taking them into the barn
Ming Li took care of them for weeks, fed them every day after school and kept them safe inside the village barn. But she was worried that when Spring came, the farmers would have to open the barn in order to start working on the crops.
Ming Li decided to guide the farmers to the barn, open the doors and they looked baffled........
