Once, there was a mother, Demeter, and daughter, Persephone. Demeter is goddess of agriculture and harvest. Whenever Demeter would be happy plants would grow.
Demeter loved her daughter Persephone very much. Persephone always made her mother very happy, so the weather would be sunny like in spring.
Hades, god of the underworld, came to Earth after being alone in the underworld. He brought his dog, Cerberus, to Earth for a break. When he let Cerberus go he saw a girl wondered upon him, she started to play with the dog. Hades suddenly fell in love with Persephone. So Hades decided to take Persephone and return to the underworld with her.
I love you!!!
Persephone was very upset and scared because she knew if she ate in the underworld she would have to stay there forever. After a few days later she got even more upset because she ended up eating 6 pomegranate seeds.
Since Demeter was in depression all living things were affected and were dying. Zeus had no choice and had to make a deal with Hades.
The deal was that Demeter would have Persephone for 6 months every year. In return Persephone would marry Hades and be his queen. When Persephone would stay with Demeter it would be spring time and when she would not it would be winter time.
