  • Carbon has been exchanged from the atmosphere and makes its way to plants. The carbon atom is being used by plants to create carbohydrates.
  • Animals
  • The plant has now shredded its leaves. Carbon is in the soil as a result. While carbon is in the soil it is settling into the ground.
  • Fossil Fuels
  • Carbon traveled to the surface ocean when it was settling into the ground surface. Carbon is moving around due to the water currents on the ocean surface.
  • Carbon is now in a sea creature due to the water currents. Carbon gas will be exchanged through respiration.
  • Carbon is now in fossil fuels because the animal has now decomposed and turned into fossil fuel. Carbon will burn while in fossil fuels, the outcome is CO2 released into the atmosphere.
