One beautiful morning , the Baudelaire children boarded the rickety train to the beach.
a visit from Mr Poe
They disembarked the rickety train and set up their belongings on the pebbles along the beach.
MR Poe's car
Violet, the eldest picked up a pebble and put an 'A' on it and threw it into the ocean.
As she stepped back she noticed in a distance that there was a mysterious figure in the fog. They waited a while until the mysterious figure approached them, they realised that it was Mr Poe. 'How do you do?' Violet said politely. 'Fine thanks, ' he responded. Mr Poe then explained to the Baudelaire's that their parents had perished in a fire that also burnt down their house.
Mr Poe took the Baudelaire children to their house. They were still in shock from what they had just been told.
When they saw what had happened to their house they realised they had lost everything, including their parents. They walked carefully into the burnt smokey house and looked around. They were in the library when Violet and Sunny stopped a little in front of Mr Poe, but Klaus kept looking around. When he looked down he noticed something shiny, he lent down picked it up.
