Storyboard Text

  • There are a few differences between  the metric system and the  customary system.
  • One is that the metric system goes up by dividing by 10, or down by multiplying by 10.
  • The customary system goes up or down by a certain number, not always the same. For instance, if you started with inches, you divide by 12 to get to feet. Then you can divide by three to get yards, an lastly, divide by 1,760 to get miles. You can also multiply by the numbers listed above to go to smaller units.
  • The customary system is use only in the united states, while the metric system is used everywhere but the U.S. Scientists in America also use the metric system, as it is more precise.
