Storyboard Text

  • The French and Indian War
  • Get off our land!
  • The Stamp Act
  • This is outragous!
  • The Townshed Act
  • Please remain calm
  • The French and Indian War, also called the seven year war, was fought over territorial claims in the Ohio River Vally between France and Britan. For two years, France controlled the region, untill Brittish troops allied local indians. After Britan won the war, France lost Canada and land in America. This was a cause to the American Revoloution because it was why Britan needed money.
  • The Boston Massacre
  • When the sugar at was established, colonists were upset. Then, the stamp act was established, and colonists rebelled and terrorised tax collectors. After colonists rebelled, parliament agreed to repeal the stamp act. This is a cause to the american revoloution because people terrorised brittish tax collectors.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • The Townshed act authorised parliament to issue taxes on items such as glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. Massachusets led an opposition (botcott) to the townshed act. The govorner had to secretly call brittish soldiers to prevent an uprising. This was a cause to the American Revoloution because they had to send british soldiers.
  • Thomas Paine and Common Sense
  • And I shall call it "Common Sense"!
  • Before the Boston Massacre, things were growing tense between the Bostonians and the soldiers. One night, a man began harassing a redcoat. The redcoat struck him in the face, and soon a mob surrounded him. The redcoats felt so threatened that they fired their guns, which resulted in a big fight. This was a cause to the American Revolution because the redcoats killed 4 people, and it was the first fight.
  • Before the Boston Tea Party, the tax on tea was very high. Public protests of the tea act quickly grew through the colonies. Then, the sons of liberty boarded a brittish tea vessel , and dumped all of the tea in the water. This was a cause to the american revolution because people were protesting what the parliament was doing.
  • When Thomas Paine became involved in local politics, Bengamin Franklyn encouraged him to come to america. When he went to america, Thomas Paine published a famous pamplett called "Common Sense". This pamplett encouraged americans to support the american revolution. This is a cause to the american revolution because it is how people supported it.
