Silent trade is when the people that are trading don't interact with each other. Silent trade was used between the North and West Africans. Silent trade was used so there would be no argument and to get what they needed. Silent trade took place in Africa because the North and West Africans didn't speak the same language.
A North African put salt,leather,figs,dates,and cotton to trade for gold. After he put his things there he banged a drum and went a couple miles away.
The North African is a couple miles away waiting for the Wangaran to bang the drum and get his gold dust.
The Wangaran is waiting for the North African to bang the drum so he can get his salt and other goods.
The Wangaran will leave how much gold the West African gets from the goods.
A Wangaran is leaving and banging the drum so the North African can get his gold.
