Storyboard Text

  • June 20, 1789
  • The Tennis Court Oath: was taken to demand a new constitution. They agreed that the third estate will not split up until the new constitution is made.  They vowed they will reassemble whenever it is needed and became the National Assembly.
  •  The Storming of Bastille:  The fighting took place due to the third estate worrying, since they demanded the King to let them have a say in government they believed the French army was going to attack them. The revolutionaries protected themselves and went into the courtyard to breakdown the main fortress. The French army were scared and attacked. The fighting began. 
  • July 14, 1789
  • The Jacobin Club: One of the main members of the group is Maximilien Robespierre. The club was made up of like minded members of the National Assembly. They were the ones who had instituted the "terror." This is because they were afraid the revolution would fail so they arrested and executed anyone who was suspected. 
  • October 6, 1789
  • Flight to Varennes: is when King Louis and Marie Antoinette attempt to escape an unsuccessfully they got caught. They attempted to escape because they wanted to initiate a counter revolution. 
  • Get back here ! You will be executed !
  • June 21-22, 1791
  • Revolutionaries wanted to spread the enlightenment ideas to everyone. This causes problems and wars because the kings don't want to be overthrown. Since France knew they were going to war with them they started it.
  • April 20th, 1792
  • King Louis XVI is executed by guillotine: He tired to escape but failed to and was later executed for treason by the National Convention. 
  • January 21, 1793
