Storyboard Text

  • In gases and liquids, particles have lots of space and can move freely unlike solids where their particles are close together and are slightly vibrating. Solids have a fixed shape and volume whereas liquids and gases take the shape of their container. For gases, they have no definite volume but for a liquid, they do.
  • Remember that pure substances are substances that are only made up of one atom or molecule.
  • Yeah, and different substances are made up of different particles.
  • Aren't all particles in a pure substance the same?
  • So basically like water.
  • Yup! Solid particles attractive force is high, gases are low and liquids are medium. You know, because solid are high so there particles are packed but gases are far apart.
  • Lastly, just remember that the particles of a substance are attracted to one another.
  • So the strength of the attractive force depends on the type of particle?
  • OKAY STOP TALKING NOW, WE ARE GOING TO START THE TEST!
  • No problem! Also good luck!
  • Thanks! You too!
  • Thanks,by the way...
