In 1852 Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote a story about slavery because she seen a slave that was a mom get token away form her daughter which kinda sacred her. She also wrote the book because she thought that slavery was wrong and she wanted to do something about it.
We do not abuse are slaves
Slavery helps us we can't just get rid of it.

Aslo when Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote this book she made a big uprising that not just only upset the south but the north too.
When the northern read Harriet Beecher Stowe book it made them mad but after they got over the fact that they were just sitting on their butts and not doing nothing about slavery they decided to do something about slavery.
When the south read her book it made them really mad because in Harriet Beecher book it kinda said that they were abusing their slaves but they said them.
Her book and what she wrote was a big step to the civil war and it also opened the northern eyes to do something about slavery.
