There are two kinds of grasshopper phenotypes: brown and green. A disruptive selection because both grasshoppers could camouflage in soil or plants.
A severe drought happened, most plants were wiped out, causing the green grasshoppers have no where to hide, predators can see them easier than the brown one.
After generations and generations, all grasshopper became brown. But due to the lack of plants, some grasshoppers became larger and grows teeth, eating those smaller one for nutrition.
