  • Scrooge talking to his nephew.
  • Scrooge being a grumpy cunt to the charity people.
  • Are there no prison???
  • And the Union workhouse? Are they still in operation?
  • I wish could say there were not

  • I wear the chain I forged in life. I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on of my own free will, and of my own free will wore it. Is its pattern strange to you?
  • Indirect Characterization: Scrooge is being a jerk to the only person willing to be nice to him even thought is infamous for being mean.
  • Scrooge past self in the school house
  • Theme: The conversation shows theme by showing bad and mean Scrooge so later we can see how he changes.
  • Mr.Fezziwig Party
  • He spent but a few pounds of your mortal: three or four, perhaps. Is that so much that he deserves this praise?
  • Symbolism: The chains symbolism is sin and like 99.99999999999% of people he sins in his life so when he died the sins turned into chains because chains are heavy psychical and sins are heavily mentally.

  • Not coming! Not coming upon Christmas Day
  • Internal Conflict: Scrooge is very sad to see how only he was as a child and he starts to repent his greedy ways.
  • The school is not quite deserted. A solitary child, neglected by his friends, is left there still.
  • Internal Conflict: Scrooge sees how money is less then happiness.
  • It isn't that, spirit. He has the power to render us happy or unhappy...
  • Theme: Scrooge is noticing that you don't have to be rich to be happy on Christmas.
