Storyboard Text

  • The story is set in a small serene street called Maple Street. People are in their porches mowing the lawns, conversing, or watering. Some kids stop to buy ice cream from a man on a bike. Suddenly, a loud crash is heard along with power outage. 
  • One of the woman try to call an operator but fail. They also try to get a signal on the portable radio but still get nothing. Pete decided to cut to a neighboring street in order to see if they had the same problem. People start to suggest that this is likely not a just a power outage but something more.
  • Charlie decided that he should go downtown to see what is wrong. He try,s to turn the car, it turned on for a brief second and then turns off. Then, Tommy, young boy, suggest that maybe they do not want them to leave. He suggest that it is likely aliens. People at first rebuttal, but Tommy is persistent and they start to believe him 
  • The crowd thinks that one of the families in the street may not be who they think. At first, the suspect Les Goodman because his car turned on when no one else did. One woman tells Les to explain why he stays up at night to look at the sky. He says that he cant sleep sometimes and stays to look at the stars. 
  • Les continues to deny that he has anything to do with it, and everyone is suddenly suspicious. Charlie stars top think that Steve may have done it, after his wife, Myra, talked about him working on a radio in the night. He says that its nothing and just a HAM radio. 
  • A figure begins to materialize and without a thought, Charlie shoots toward the thing. Then as they walk toward it, they see that is was Pete. All of then scrutinize Charlie, but Charlie says that he has no idea of who he was. The act ends with all the people fighting over one another. Two aliens are seen saying that there is no need to attack them,  when they find a way to destroy themselves.
