Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • We're best friends!
  •                   Rising Action 1
  • I will create mankind!
  • Rising Action 2
  • What??!!
  •      Before mankind up on Mount Olympus, the gods and goddess’ all lived in harmony. Aphrodite the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility was best friends with Athena the goddess of wisdom and war. They would do everything together such as going to parties or being roommates (I really don’t know). Zeus, Athena’s father and Aphrodite’s brother was the ruler of Mount Olympus. He wanted Prometheus to create mankind so he wouldn’t be bored.(like me)
  • Rising Action 3
  • Whisper* I saw him talk to another girl!
  •    Once Prometheus created mankind, Aphrodite and Athena both fell in love with the same mortal man named Julius. Julius had brown hair and brown eyes? When Julius saw the goddess, he too desired both, but had to choose one goddess. Aphrodite said ‘‘You should totally choose me because I’m beautiful and I'm the goddess of love!” Athena then replied “No, you should choose me, because I'm so wise and I'll be a better girlfriend’’ Julius then replies “we’ll have a dancing contest to see who will win my affection”
  • Climax/Falling Action
  • i'm braking up with you!
  •     The goddesses showered him with gifts to convince him that each would be a better girlfriend. Aphrodite’s gift to Julius was the promise that he would never grow old if he picked her. Athena's blessing to Julius is that she would bestow her wisdom upon him so that he would be a leader among men if he chose her.  On the night of the big dance contest, Aphrodite and Athena were certain that their promises of lofty gifts would influence his decision.  They could only think of winning Julius’s love and barely spoke to one another.      Aphrodite and Athena danced as best as they could.  Each goddess hoped that Julius was watching and imagining spending the rest of his life with her as she danced.  But then they noticed that Julius was talking to another girl who had come to the dance.  The girl was wearing a dark green dress and the goddesses did not recognize her.  She was a mortal girl named Chloe and Julius only had eyes for her.  He did not care about promises of immortality or infinite wisdom.  Julius was in love with his own kind!
  • Resolution
  • Love
  • Hate
  • Jealousy
  •     Later that night, the goddesses realized what had happened.  Julius had gotten in the way of their friendship and caused them to be jealous of one another when they tried to compete for his affection.  In the end, he chose someone else and was in love. Aphrodite and Athena decided to slip quietly into Chloe’s dream with the kinds of feelings that they experienced and whisper rumors that Julius loved someone else. When Chloe woke up, she was still in love, but did not know why she felt insecure and jealous.
  • Whisper* He's not good enough for you!
  •     Julius and Chloe were cursed with a love that was very strong but forever ruined by jealousy.  (All mortals since have had this dilemma.)   Zeus was tired of watching the goddesses getting involved with mankind’s many emotions.  He wanted the girls to go back to being best friends again and live in harmony.  So he banished them back to Mount Olympus.
  •  Mortal love is often melancholy poignant as thoughts of jealousy and I insecurity tip toe into the mind.
