Tam Lin obeys, but has an agenda of his own. He knew this day would come, so he packed supplies for Matt to be able to escape and make it to Atzlan. He takes Matt away, and when no one is around, tells him where to go. He says his last few words to him, and sends Matt on his way.
Matt is dumbfounded that Tam Lin would make him travel alone, but Tam Lin knows and has accepted that once Matt is discovered, he will immediately be killed. He remembers Tam Lin's wise words on what to do once he gets there. Matt begins his journey to Atzlan, hopeful that he has all the supplies he needs to get there.
