I think that it is a great idea to promote English wealth and not really care about the colonists wealth.
The king decided to put laws called the Navigation acts into the colonies. That meant that the colonies were only allowed to trade raw materials with Britain, also when they shipped anything or anything was shipped to them, it had to go through British ports.
Another one is they had high taxes on everything they shipped that was not to England.
All shipping had to be done on English ships.
