The Iroquois lived in the Eastern Woodlands which has very thick forest, rivers, and streams. The trees provided lots of wood for the Iroquois and the rivers and streams provided water for them to drink.
The Iroquois hunted and ate animals such as bear, rabbit, deer, and used fishing nets to catch fish. They also grew squash, corn, and bean. And stored food for the winter.
In the Iroquois tribe, men hunted for food while the women tended to the house,took care of the family,cooked the meals, and crafted items that were useful for the Iroquois such as fishing nets, pottery, and baskets.
