In Chapter 9, the Puritans were set on a voyage upon the Mayflower. They faced many problems during their voyage, but the worst one was the weather. The weather consisted of an awful storm, and due to that, their ship broke down. The ship was leaky and one of the main beams were cracked. Therefore, the ship was not able to perform the voyage.
In Chapter 10, they arrived at Cape Cod and were absolutely disappointed. There was only sand and it was so cold. They then see the Native Americans, and described them as "barbarians." When the Native Americans see the Puritans, they run away in terror.
In Chapter 11, the Puritans recover in health and strength and celebrate with the Native Americans. They celebrate the first Thanksgiving by being thankful for their new relationship with each other.
