Deborah Sampson's life.
Deborah was born on December 17, 1760 in Plympton, Massachusetts
Since Deborah's family was poor, she became an indentured servant to Deacon Benjamin Thomas at age 10.
When her indenture was completed, she decided to join the war. Women weren't allowed to join, so she disguised as a man named Robert Shurtleff.
(Deborah) Robert joined The Fourth Massachusetts Regiment.
During her duty in the war, her job was to scout British territory and record the amount of people & materials. IT WAS DANGEROUS
Without Deborah Sampson's bravery and determination, we wouldn't be the America we are today.
