It was the year 2081, and everybody was equal. The people weren't just equal by the law, but in every single way. The government created special handicaps so that nobody could be smarter or stronger than anybody else.
George and Hazel's fourteen year-old son Harrison Bergeron, an extremely strong and smart kid who was overpowering to other people as he outgrew his handicaps leading to his arrest.
Over a span of around six years in prison, Harrison breaks out of prison to attempt a public revolution to change the world.
To begin his revolution, Harrison finds the nearest studio that was broadcasting to spread the news of how you didn't have to wear your handicaps and you could become what you really were.
Harrison explains to the world how this madness should end, so he removes his handicaps live to convince other people to take off their handicaps with him. Even though the government wanted the handicaps on, Harrison's acts showed the world how they could each become somebody new, not a copy.
The H.G. came in with a shotgun and shot Harrison in his second act. However, many people watching it still found out that they weren't what they could be. His inspirational acts would then lead to a new world. A world of different and unique things.
