  • Using this quote he is bringing up a difficult subject but it needs to be said. He is using the credibility of himself instead of facts and emotion
  • Peace is not the way
  • " Sir we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm witch is now coming on." (logos)
  • In this quote Patrick Henry is trying to get his audience on his side by telling the truth about England he wants to get there trust, and even though it may be the worst it is the truth.

  • " Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrance's have produces additional violence and insult" (logos)
  • In this quote Patrick Henry is trying to tell the audience that England will betray them. He is trying to make the audience feel angered with the armies that have already came to some of the colonies. Now they will realize England is already controlling them.

  • " Give me liberty or give me death!" (pathos)
  • "We have petitioned and we have supplicated." Patrick Henry is making sure he states the facts so his audience knows they have already tried peace.
  • With this quote he still states facts which hes trying to inform his audience that they've tried to be peaceful the only thing left to do is fight.
  • With this quote Patrick Henry is trying to get his audience in the mindset of being ready to fight and free them from England and not get used by them anymore.
