Storyboard Text

  • All of the Indians have been removed from the land. You can farm peacefully.
  • Why would you remove them from their homes! They lived here ling before us.
  • They have lived here for a long time, but they, like any other country at this time, were at risk of an invasion. There is no such thing as fair in this world.
  • But they were living here too! Couldn't we have just tried to live with them? They never asked to be moved.
  • Well, actually, Thomas Jefferson did speak about how the Americans were like the grand chief, and they could all live together and keep their homes if they cooperated with the government. They didn't. Indians like Geronimo and Red Cloud led resistance against the soldiers, they attacked settlers moving west, and they destroyed homes and murdered many citizens. It would be unconstitutional for our citizens to be forced to live in the danger.
