  • Step 2 Protest
  • Dutch settlers moved into South Africa, they spoke in their own language and live on South Africa without permission to do so. They became a Nationalist Party and win a war against the British to gain Africa's land.
  • Step 3 Revolution
  • When the Dutch (referred as 'Afrikaan') settlers moved to South Africa, they made an Apartheid. The Apartheid segregated the Settlers from the Africans. This made it illegal for nonwhites to go to certain places.
  • Step 4 Recovery
  • I, President F.W de Clerk, say everyone should be treated equal on this land.
  • The ANC fought against white domination. The Boer war broke out in order to gain land. Many protesters had their lives at risk because of how gung-ho the police were.
  • ANC leaders become jailed for treason. Many protesters were shot for protesting. Most protesters were shot in the back unexpected. Government arrested Mandela, people protested against this with their lives.
  • F.W. de Clerk was elected as president in South Africa. As President he released the ANC and Mandela from prison. Clerk also banned other organizations who supported segregation. During Clerks presidency, everyone was trying to "heal wounds from the past".
