Ferdinan "Gellan" Magellan had great navigational skills. In the map, "Voyage of Magellan", it says that "On April 27, 1521, Magellan was killed in the Philippines." This shows that Magellan had good navigational skills because he successfully made it to Asia by taking a western route.
"Gellan" was a very dedicated man. As stated in "Over the Edge of the World" it states that "Magellan and his crew faced rocky shoals, bad storms, and bays that led to dead-ends." Even though they faced hardships he still successfully stayed determined to complete his task.
"Gellan" had some concern for his crew but most people would disagree. From the journal of Antonio Pigafetta, it states, "Magellan cut back our food portions, so we ate old biscuit reduced to powder, and full of grubs, and stinking from the dirt and rats..." In the end he didn't have much concern for his crew based on what they consumed.
