The rabid dog that contains rabies bites the cat that is just sleeping
Once being bitten by a rabid animal through saliva the animals is injected with rod-shaped rabies virus.
Good thing you were brought here and treated or you could have died from this virus.
After infected with saliva the virus spreads to the brain. The animal has symptoms. This causes the animal to get headaches, confusion, and hallucinations
How could you prevent the spreading of rabies?
Without treatment the rabies virus would give the cat symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and even headaches. And it could also kill the cat if it doesn't get treated in time.
What we learned about the rabies virus
Treatments for animals usually consists of a fast acting shot and the treatment for humans consists of different vaccines in your arm to identify the virus and fight it.
This virus has spread overtime from different animals with the virus continuing to spread. The best prevention for this virus is for you and your pets to be up to date with all mandatory vaccines and to not let your pets roam with no supervision.
We learned how easily that even our own pets at home could catch this virus. We also learned how to better protect ourselves and out pets from getting this virus.
