In the beginning of time, the goddess Entole was born from Chaos.
It was her duty to bring balance into the world.
She begged the other gods to allow her to keep the world from being in eternal darkness, but they controlled the darkness, and thought this was unfair.
Entole, despite the other gods' wishes, cast a protective bubble around the earth, creating "Day"
The gods were outraged when they found out, so Erebus cut off Entole's legs, preventing her from using her power.
The rest of the gods eventually took pity on Entole, and allowed her to half of the world as day and the other half as night.
They rotate around the globe, so that each day is perfectly divided between the two, and all can live in perfect harmony.
