  • AHHH!
  • In The first paragraph the narrator introduces himself and talks about what happened when he killed a man. He states that it sharpened his senses especially his hearing.

  • The narrator was never kinder to the old man than during the week before he killed him. But every night of that week at midnight the narrator snuck into the old man's room with a lantern until he could see the eye.
  • On the last day of the week at midnight the narrator had snuk into the old mans room for the last time but the old man wakes up and screams. The narrator smuthers the old man with his matres until his hart stops beating.
  • The police were called by a neighbour after they heard the scream. The narrator assures them that it was him screaming in his sleep and that the old man was out of town but the police ask to come in to look around the house just to make sure. So our narrator gives them a tour around the house.
  • At the end of the story the police officers were satisfied with their search of the house so they started to chat for a while about familiar things. After a while the narrator could hear a ringing noise and it grew louder the louder as he talked. The policeman appeared to not be affected by it. The noise got so loud and the pain got so great that the narrator confessed to the police.
