Second year of imprisonment - the lawyer started drinking wine, stopped playing the piano and read only classics.
The lawyer spends the rest of the years reading books on languages, theology, philosophy, and history.
The banker plans to kill the lawyer because if he pays, he will go bankrupt. So he sneaks into his room to find him asleep. He then notices a letter written by the lawyer that said that he was going to leave 2 minutes earlier that the bet timings as he doesn't need the money and because he has learnt a lot in these 15 years.
